Causes of Lower Back Pain

Get Diagnosed, Treated, and Find Lower Back Pain Relief in Clayton

The number one reasons patients first decide to see a chiropractor is back pain (lower, middle, and upper). If back pain were a disorder, it would be easily treated. Back pain, however, is a symptom of one or several underlying conditions. In order to successfully treat our patients' painful symptoms and help them find back pain relief in Clayton, our chiropractor, Dr. Karel Lloyd must first work with each patient to determine the underlying cause of the pain.

What Causes Lower Back Pain?

Most often, injuries to the muscle tissue and ligaments are responsible for lower back pain. These types of sprains and strains typically result in acute symptoms, meaning the pain comes and goes quickly. Sprains and strains typically occur during activities including sports, lifting heavy objects, sudden movements, prolonged poor posture, or simply picking up a dropped pencil.

Patients suffering from chronic back, back pain symptoms which do not recede, typically have a more severe injury such as a compression fracture or herniated lumbar disc. Some disorders, however, can also cause chronic back pain including spinal stenosis, degenerative disc disease, joint dysfunction, and osteoarthritis. Less commonly, chronic lower back pain is due to a rarer underlying issue such as a tumor, infection, or an auto-immune disease.

Our Chiropractor Provides Clayton Back Pain and Lower Back Pain Treatment

Dr. Lloyd works with each patient during their initial consultation to develop a full understanding of the patient's medical history and current symptoms. He then performs a physical evaluation, looking for any signs of illness or injury. We then develop and schedule a unique wellness plan for each patient, mapping out their relief, recovery, and preventative chiropractic care. If you experience pain each day, we encourage you to contact our office at 919-553-2225 to learn more about Clayton back pain treatment.
